"This is our chosen area of research all over the Philippines because based on our GPS, the province of Sorsogon, particularly the municipality of Juban, has the most wonderful image of mangrove growing in abandoned fishponds," says Dr. Maricar Samson, head of the team. She further explained that, they will check in mangrove sites (Embarcadero, Binanuahan, Tinago and Caruhayon) the kind of mangrove growing thereat in order to share the same with other regions in the country . She narrated the importance of mangrove in mitigating Coastal Erosion and also in having abundant fish in a particular place. Mangrove serves as shelter of different types of fishes. This study will be conducted for at least two years to monitor the progress of said mangrove...BRAVO Juban! We are FIRST in the Philippines!
